Tasmania is known for incredible food and some of the best produce you will ever eat. We know that while you’re here you want to eat the best of what Tassie produces so we regularly serve up delicious, seasonal meals that will fill your belly and bring a smile to your face.
We also keep our fridges and cellar stocked with local wines, beers and spirits from the many distilleries and breweries in the Derwent Valley and beyond.
We’re happy to provide a feed or two during your stay, just let us know what you’re craving and we’ll create something delicious filled with Tassie produce and whatever morsels we can gather from the Stanton Farmhouse property.

Breakfast
As part of your bed and breakfast stay, you'll enjoy an a-la-carte breakfast, brimming with fresh, local Tasmanian produce. We source the best free range meat and produce from around Tasmania such as Scottsdale free range bacon.
We serve a starter of our homemade granola (we have been told it's the best in the world!) served with Tamar Valley yogurt and fresh fruit or preserved fruit from Stanton farm.
This will be followed by freshly home-baked bread and a selection of local preserves and jams. Our beloved ducks and chickens enjoy a free-range, luxurious life here at Stanton and our beautiful ladies reward us with eggs-a-plenty for your breakfast.
Coffee lovers rejoice! Our friends at Tassie Devil Coffee Beans have created our own special ‘Stanton Farmhouse Roast’! It uses fair-trade beans from Colombia and roasted in Broadmarsh (just on the other side of the Dromedary Hills behind Stanton). For tea lovers, you’ll find a huge choice of teas and infusions to start off your morning right.
Platters and Picnics
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with your feet up in front of our cosy fire or on our sun-soaked verandah nibbling on Tasmanian cheese and crackers and sipping on a local wine. Order your Tasmanian cheese or mixed platter ahead of time and add your own wine or choose one of our Tassie selections.

When you book your stay via our website, you will have the option to add either a small, medium or deluxe platter to your booking.
Dinner
After a day spent discovering adventure and treasures, enjoy a warming, fresh homemade dinner. We commonly offer Tasmanian salmon, braised lamb shank or freshly made soup. Better yet, it’s served with salad from our garden and freshly baked Stanton Farmhouse bread. You can almost smell the bread now, can’t you?

When you book via our website you will have the option of adding dinner as an ‘extra’ to your stay.
Treats and surprises
In the drawing room you will discover complimentary port for an evening tipple by the fire. If you sneak* into the tearoom you’ll find complimentary Stanton Farmhouse made biscuits – the perfect quick snack or added crunch to your tea or coffee.
*sneaking optional but it does make the biscuits taste better.
