The River Feast Experience

Enjoy the best of Tasmania’s Derwent Valley

We provide you with a picnic hamper packed with quality, hand chosen, 100% Tasmanian local produce and will direct you to our sister property; Ryelands Farm. At Ryelands, you will have private access to the River Derwent, your own picnic table and chairs just metres from the vines that produce the wine included in your feast.

Sit by the river and watch for local wildlife, especially the resident platypus! You may be lucky enough to spot both of the world’s monotremes, the platypus and echidna. Arrive for lunch and stay for the afternoon. You are on holiday after all, so there is no rush.

A typical River Feast Experience for two includes:

A bottle of Ryelands Pinor Noir, Tasmanian cheese typically from Coal River Farm or Wicked Cheese, charcuterie sourced from local producers such as The Wursthaus and Ziggy’s Supreme Smallgoods, free range Marion Bay roast chicken, Scottsdale ham, freshly baked loaf of Stanton bread, Stanton preserves e.g. pickled zuccini, Stanton dips e.g. nettle pesto, rose petal & elderflower fizz and fresh fruit, and more.
